1949年9月，开国大典前夕，苏联派出了一支摄影队来到中国，帮助中国拍摄彩色纪录片。他们和中方摄影师合作，走遍大江南北，用苏联独特的电影手法再现三大战役，也记录下当时中国各地的风土人情。本片从这批彩色素材中，挑选了五座最具特色的城市，重返故地，寻访亲历者。用生动的彩色影像，温暖的故事唤起70年前的记忆，让观众感受到新中国的勃勃生机，获得感动和力量。。巴基斯坦裔青年卡西姆是英国小城的著名DJ，他每晚在全城最热闹的夜店街出没，梦想拥有自己的舞厅。他的父母正策划给他娶个巴基斯坦媳妇儿，而卡西姆却与英国姑娘罗斯琳陷入了热恋。两个人都不敢把恋情公开，卡西姆的家人绝不会让“欧洲鬼子”进门，罗斯琳生活的本地人区更不能接受英国姑娘跟“臭老阿”混在一起……。A Time to Heal -The team is called out to Northern Ireland to investigate the bodies of two men killed by paramilitaries twenty years ago.
